Leadership is hard work. Leading in a dynamic, high stakes environment is even harder. The skills and attributes that got you here likely won’t get you where you want to be.
Much like elite athletes and performers, the most effective leaders get coached. And they get coached by elite coaches.
“Nathan is an exceptional coach. There are people who prove indispensable to a startup journey and Nathan is one of those people. Being a startup CEO is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done and I have needed a lot of support to manage emotions, relationships, and key decisions. There are moments and decisions where Nathan proved to be an extension of my executive leadership team. He has an approach to development that is really intense in all the right ways. If you are willing to “go all out” he is willing to do that for you and with you as well.”
– CEO, EdTech Startup
I provide top-tier coaching to high-impact leaders who want to make a step-function improvement in how they operate. I leverage 15+ years of experience as an operator and executive where I built some of the top companies in the world, including DoorDash, Neighbor, and LinkedIn.
My coaching is customized to meet the needs of each client and addresses the whole person, not just your work self. I use a combination of best-in-class assessments, quantitative and qualitative 360-degree feedback, and intense inquiry to help my clients achieve business outcomes and live an intentional life.
“Working with Nathan was one of the most transformational experiences of my leadership journey. It fortuitously came at an inflection point in my career and personal life and I emerged not only excelling professionally but also as a better person. As any good coach does, he inspired me to new heights of performance in ways that were authentically ‘me.’ These have continued to pay dividends well beyond our sessions and they’ll continue to do so through the remainder of my career. If you’re unsure if leadership coaching can help you out (I was before my experience with Nathan), rest assured that Nathan is the real deal.”

About Nathan
I’m the founder of 824 Ventures, an executive coaching and leadership development firm. I’ve coached leaders at high growth startups and bellwether companies including DoorDash, Google, Electronic Arts, LinkedIn, Procter & Gamble, Neighbor, and Lyft.
Most recently I was the VP of People at Neighbor, an a16z-backed startup disrupting the storage industry. Prior to Neighbor, I spent 4.5 years at DoorDash where I was hired as the first head of people operations and helped the company scale from 250 to 5,000+ employees. I built the first leadership development program and coached more than half of the executive team. Prior to joining DoorDash, I held several roles on the HR team at LinkedIn.
I started my career on Wall Street at Lehman Brothers where I had a front-row seat to the largest bankruptcy in history. I’m the author of the career strategy book, Not Your Parents’ Workplace, and regularly write for Forbes, Inc, and Fast Company. I’m an IRONMAN triathlon finisher, hold an MBA from Brigham Young University, and was trained as a coach at the Co-Active Training Institute. My wife and I live in Southern Utah with our four children.
“When I started working with Nathan I was stepping into my role as CEO and needed someone who could help me scale the company and scale as a leader. I was blown away by Nathan. He helped me unpack and uncover answers to my problems. He helped me slow down, think more clearly, and make better decisions. He helped me be more intentional and reframe challenges. I’ve since recommended Nathan’s coaching to others and they’ve had a similarly awesome experience.”
